About the UNO Summer Internship Program
The Urban Nations Outreach Internship Program is a program with an emphasis on serving New York City's immigrants and unreached people groups. Interns experience daily life in New York City and have constant contact with immigrants from South Asia, West Africa and the Middle East.

Interns serve alongside our UNO Staff and minister to our focus groups in Queens, Brooklyn, and The
Bronx. Besides the daily contact with our predominantly Muslim & Hindu focus groups, the Intern will be introduced to many different learning situations-- in leadership, teaching, community service, evangelism, cross-cultural church planting, apologetics, acculturation, and more.

Our program helps prepare student interns in three primary ways:

1). GAIN EXPERIENCE & TRAINING IN SERVING A COMMUNITY
Our program provides hands-on experience and training which prepares the student for future ministry in urban or international settings. Interns will also gain valuable ESL teaching experience and opportunities to engage in park outreach to immigrant children.

2). EARN SEMINARY OR COLLEGE CREDIT
Our program can be structured to satisfy most seminary or college internship course requirements. The missionary's professor or Dean will work with Urban Nations Outreach staff to make sure the requirements are fulfilled.

3). BE EXPOSED TO PEOPLE OF OTHER RELIGIONS
Our program exposes the student to newly arrived immigrants from the "10/40 Window" and helps Urban Nations Outreach minister to these peoples in an American context. It gives the student a taste of "living in a foreign country" and it emulates many aspects of what a new missionary would experience during his initial months on the foreign mission field. It also allows the Intern to benefit from living in an urban learning environment, with lessons, situations, and conditions that would not be available in the classroom or suburban setting.
