UNO BEACH HOUSE

The UNO Beach House is a historic 100+ year old building that was originally built in Romanesque style as a turn-of-the-century TRAIN DEPOT. The solid stone construction and 10 Foot ceilings make for a unique and adventerous backdrop for youth group housing. There are three floors and 9 bedrooms: a men's floor, women's floor, and UNO STAFF floor. There is a kitchen and meeting room on each floor. UNO Interns are also housed in the facility.

Our Summer Mission Trip Dates are very popular and usually book up by January 1. Most of our teams arrive on a Friday and depart on Saturday and most reserve dates at least 8 months in advance. Contact us for more information about dates and cost.

There are many reasons that mission teams choose to stay in the UNO Beach House, but the most popular bonus reason is -----THE BEACH! The UNO Beach House is only one block from a beautiful sandy beach! The Atlantic Ocean and New York City's popular Rockaway Beach recreation area is a perfect backdrop for group worship time and fun swimming, surfing, and hanging out!

The boardwalk, plenty of hip restaurants, coffee shops, food store, banks, and public transportation ---all are a quick 5 minute walk from the UNO Beach House.

ACCOMODATIONS

The UNO Beach House is a unique, 9 Bedroom, dorm-style facility that can accommodate Christian mission teams and retreat groups of up to 18 people. The 2nd floor is for females, 3rd floor for males, and the 1st floor is for UNO Staff.

The accomodations are very basic, with bunkbeds with usually 3-4 people per room. But the bennefits are: the cost is very inexpensive, the meeting room space is available any time of day, there is no worry about disturbing neighbors from youth noise or worship sessions, ....and, best of all---you are right by the beach!

The large UNO Beach House backyard and deck are used for group meetings...as well as recreation, neighborhood concerts, karaoke, Bar-b-ques, & other outreach events.
